Williams Ridge Hike Added

Williams Ridge is a difficult hike in the Chilliwack Valley area. The initial trail is a steep, leg busting climb up to the ridge. People who try this one will laugh at the Grouse Grind! The round trip is 12 km (7.5 mi) with an elevation gain of 1420 m (4660 ft). The average grade is 23.7% and if you make it you’ll arrive at a rocky knoll with an elevation of 1880 m (6170 ft).

Slesse Memorial Hike Added

On December 9th 1956 Trans Canada Airlines Flight 810 disappeared while on route from Vancouver to Calgary. The wreckage wasn’t found until 5 months later when climbers spotted it near the summit of the third peak of Slesse Mountain. A commemorative plaque was erected in 1995 by the friends and family of the 62 passengers and crew who died in the accident.

Mount MacFarlane Hike Added

Mount MacFarlane can be found at the north end of the ridge that runs north from Slesse Mountain. It’s a difficult hike that takes about 10 hours to complete with a lot of steep climbing and treacherous stretches of trail.
