As hiking groups are created they will become visible in the groups section to other users. You can then see what the club is about, where they like to hike and even who the members are. You can choose to join if the group is public and before you know it you'll be in the mountains with a bunch of new friends! We even have an instant messaging service which allows members to contact each other without giving out their personal email address.

Don't want to join a club? No, you want to create your own right? Well that's easy... choose your area, think of a funky club name and off you go. Let others join you!

When you join TrekBC you are given your own personal profile. You can display your photo, tell people about yourself and even create albums of your hiking photos and videos.

You then have the ability to find other members who you might like to connect with. Our system allows you to search by profile name, age, gender, city or postal code. If you find somebody who shares your love of rock climbing you can contact them through the members instant messaging service, without giving out your email address.

You can also locate entire groups by keyword. Type in 'rock climbing' and all the relevant groups will be displayed on the screen for you.

The events section of the members area enables you to see at a glance all the scheduled hikes in the upcoming future. When you click on an event you can see where it is taking place, what time, who organized it and even who's signed up. If you would like to join all you have to do is click on the rsvp link and your picture will appear in the itinerary. Suddenly can't make it? Just un-rsvp yourself... simple.

That's not all... if you plan a hike and think your friend would enjoy it, you can send them an invite!

If an event is not happening for a number of weeks you can elect to have a reminder email sent to you.

There's no excuse now, it's time to play outside!

The member forum is the place to go with all your hiking questions. Other members, perhaps with more experience than you, will be on hand to offer help and advice about getting outside in the great outdoors.
